This is a handmade Stock Removal knife. The original design was sketched out on a sheet of precision ground O1 tool steel, cut out and ground to shape.

The Desperado Bowie is a full size/large knife. One of the largest knives I currently make at TUCKAMORE. The handles are prototypes made from Kirinite-a synthetic/polymer mix. Hand shaped and custom fitted. The hardware is brass. The most important part of this stock removal prototype is the heat treat-which allows it to be used for its intended purpose of chopping and cutting. Rockwell hardness is 59-60. The bevel is flat to convex and the steel finish is used/antiqued/post heat treat with a little aging added. Only one like this will be made.
