This prototype Trail Hawk is an awesome example of what can be created using the skill sets of welding and hand forging. A truly unique steel finish with a razor sharp edge. The bevels are “off-set” on the heel. I’ve done this because I, humbly, feel it creates a stronger area in that part of the knife. Even though the bevels are slightly off-set she is still a very easy knife to sharpen. The welded/forged finish transitions into the buffed flats that have a convex final edge that is sharp! The handles are hand shaped/sanded and hand contoured Red Lace Cedar Burl. There is an awesome palm swell where it ought to be and this knife feels perfect in hand. A single handmade mosaic pin is in the center along with two brass pins, copper/brass pin and two solid brass pins. The liners are Periwinkle g10 and compliment the Red Lace beautifully. Overall length is approximately 13”. Blade length is approximately 7 1/2”. Thickness of the O1 tool steel is 3/16”. Width is approximately 1 3/4”.
