The new hand forged Tuckamore Skinner 2.1 is a total gem of a knife. The slightly wider rlly Ontarioblade makes for easier use when skinning. The finger choil is smooth, rounded and protects the finger from the tail edge of the blade. On the original Tuk Skinner I and others would occasionally nick ourselves when in use. The handles are all unique, hand sanded and contoured to ergonomically fit the hand. I find myself just wanting to hold each of these first eight in the hand because they are just so beautiful to look at. Hand forged, aged and antiqued in finish each blade along with their handle is truly a unique, one of a kind heirloom that I hope will be passed down with use. Weather you choke up on the blade or hold with the handle the size and shape makes this one a functional, reliable companion in the field. I would even use this one at home in the kitchen or “bar” tending.
**When knives aren’t in use they should be stored outside of their sheath and all exposed steel should have a thin coat of Mineral Oil or other knife oil wiped over the steel. These knives are made with high carbon steel and will rust if not properly taken care of.
**Hand wash with mild soap and warm water. Thoroughly dry and apply a thin coat of Mineral Oil.
